William W. Warner was an American writer and biologist. In 1977 he was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction for his first book Beautiful Swimmers: Watermen, Crabs and the Chesapeake Bay. The book is a lyrical work of art that is based on Warner's experiences living and working among crab fishermen on the Chesapeake.
