Hey, it’s Corey again. If you know me, you know I’m all about my VW Beetle—it’s my pride and joy, my weekend project, and my ride to every surf spot and beach bar around. But here’s the thing: Wildwood isn’t just a paradise for surfers and beach lovers—it’s a hot spot for car enthusiasts, too. Every year, the island comes alive with some of the best car events around, and trust me, it’s a must-see for anyone who loves classic rides as much as I do.

Here’s the lowdown on the car events happening in Wildwood that you’ll definitely want to check out:

1. Wildwood Classic Car Show

This one’s a staple. Every September, the boardwalk transforms into a showcase of some of the coolest classic cars you’ll ever see. From muscle cars to vintage hot rods, there’s something for everyone. For me, it’s a chance to geek out over other classic VWs and swap stories with fellow air-cooled enthusiasts.

What I love most is that you get to see these cars cruising down the main strip, not just parked. The mix of retro rides and Wildwood’s neon lights is pure magic.

2. NJ VW Association Meet-Up

If you’re into Volkswagens, this is the event you can’t miss. Every summer, VW lovers from all over the region roll into Wildwood for a weekend of beachside meet-ups, cruises, and swap meets. Last year, I met a guy who had a split-window Bus that was basically a work of art. We spent hours talking shop and sharing tips on keeping our air-cooled engines running smooth.

My favorite part? The laid-back vibe. Everyone here gets it—it’s not just about the cars, it’s about the passion behind them.

3. Boardwalk Hot Rods Weekend

Even if you’re more into big engines and chrome, Wildwood’s got you covered. Hot Rods Weekend is a killer event that brings out the best of American muscle and classic customization. I’m usually more of a VW guy, but I can’t help but admire the craftsmanship on display here.

Plus, it’s another excuse to drive my Beetle down to the boardwalk and hang out with other car nuts.

4. T.R.O.G.

TROG is my kind of weekend. Nothing beats watching those old hot rods and bikes rip down the sand—feels like stepping back in time. Between wrenching on my VW Beetle, catching waves in the morning, and hitting the local beach bars at night, this event ties it all together. Cars, bars, and surfing—it’s pretty much my perfect scene, and TROG brings that energy to Wildwood like nowhere else.

The VW Beetle and Wildwood Vibes

One of the best things about these events is how they bring people together. My VW Beetle isn’t just a car—it’s a conversation starter, a piece of history, and a way to connect with people who share the same love for classic rides. Every car event in Wildwood feels like a family reunion, even if it’s your first time.

After a day of cars, it’s only natural to hit up a local beach bar for a cold drink and some live music. There’s nothing like swapping car stories while the sun sets and the ocean breeze rolls in.

Why You Should Check It Out

Whether you’re a die-hard gearhead or just someone who loves a little nostalgia, Wildwood’s car events are worth the trip. The mix of vintage rides, beachside views, and good vibes is unbeatable. Plus, it’s the perfect excuse to take your own ride out for a spin.

So, if you see a tan VW Beetle with a board rack cruising around Wildwood during one of these events, give me a wave or come say hi. Let’s talk cars, surf, and everything in between.

Catch you on the road,-Corey 🛠️🚗🌊
