Hello, friends of the Sea Gypsy,
Today, I’m writing with a heavy heart as we say goodbye to one of Wildwood’s most beloved restaurants and gathering spots: Goodnight Irene’s Brew Pub. For years, Irene’s has been a cornerstone of our little island—a place where locals and visitors alike could come together over great food, craft beer, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
As the owner of the Sea Gypsy Bed & Breakfast, I’ve sent many of our guests to Goodnight Irene’s over the years, knowing they’d enjoy a meal and an experience as memorable as their stay with us. Whether it was a family dinner, a night out with friends, or simply stopping by to sample one of their famous brews, Irene’s was more than just a restaurant—it was a Wildwood tradition.
A Wildwood Icon
Goodnight Irene’s was the kind of place that made you feel at home the moment you walked in. Their outdoor patio was perfect for those warm summer nights, and the live music always brought an extra layer of magic to the experience. The food? Delicious, creative, and always satisfying—whether you were in the mood for a hearty burger, crispy wings, or their signature pizzas.
And let’s not forget their craft beer selection! Irene’s wasn’t just about good food; it was about celebrating the art of brewing. Their rotating taps and local brews kept things fresh and exciting, offering something new to discover every time you visited.
A Loss for the Community
The closing of Goodnight Irene’s marks the end of an era in Wildwood. It’s a reminder of how special our local businesses are and how much they contribute to the spirit of this town. For many of us, Irene’s was a place to gather, laugh, and create memories. Its absence will be deeply felt—not just by those of us who live here year-round, but by the countless visitors who made it part of their Wildwood experience.
Cherishing the Memories
While it’s bittersweet to see Goodnight Irene’s close its doors, I like to think that its legacy will live on in the memories we’ve all made there. For those of you who’ve stayed at the Sea Gypsy and enjoyed a meal or a drink at Irene’s, you know what I mean.
If you have a favorite memory or photo from your time at Goodnight Irene’s, I’d love for you to share it. Let’s celebrate all the joy it brought to Wildwood and the people who made it such a special place.
Supporting Local Businesses
As we say goodbye to Irene’s, let’s also remember to support the many other incredible local businesses that make Wildwood so unique. From family-owned restaurants to boutique shops and craft breweries, these establishments are the heart and soul of our community.
We’ll continue to recommend our favorite spots to Sea Gypsy guests, and we’re always happy to help you discover the hidden gems that make Wildwood so special.
Goodnight Irene’s, thank you for the memories, the meals, and the moments. You’ll always be part of Wildwood’s story, and you’ll always have a place in our hearts.
With gratitude,
The Sea Gypsy Family
